The Reaching Out (RO) Knowledge Evolution cycle

I suggest a new model of knowledge extraction and formation. This model describes the way accumulation of data and its analysis interact in future research. In fact, every bit of new data creates feedback on current theories and even research methods, which in time reflect on new data gathered. The suggested model is based on the Reaching Out (RO) model of cyclic knowledge production, based themes derived from some methodological aspects of my WBP. These later mentioned parts of my W.B.P. developed in order to form a practical knowledge accumulation method needed to understand the singularity embedded in each psychotherapeutic entercount.

The model describes the way a definition of the required information is formulated, and results in a choice of appropriate research methodology. The data is then gathered and consolidated into a coherent knowledge construction, which leads to development of practical implication and dissemination of conclusions. The dissemination naturally leads to user feedback which influences the formulation of the additional information required and the cycle continues.

Essential Information Indicator (EII) – Locating and defining gaps in existing knowledge and understanding. The EII is based on the data and feedback received from the field. The EII defines which phenomena or concrete events should be researched in order to collect the necessary information.

Methodology - Construction of the optimal scientific method for accumulating the directed data.

Accumulation of data - Data collection process

Consolidation of data - Consolidation of data into an overall picture

Knowledge construction - Analysis of the overall picture and creation of interpretive understanding

Deriving Practical Implications - Utilization of the knowledge and the interpretive understanding in practical applications.

Dissemination – Disseminating the new practical implications with full transparency to all clients, such as professional practitioners and the community.

User feedback - Gathering information related to the applicability of the new practical implications.

The cyclic progression hereby presented is based on two aspects of knowledge formation using a mixed methodology: interpretive and empiricist research.
