The origin of knowledge

There are various impulses that motivate us to pursue and define knowledge. The Impulse for survival encourages us to understand the true nature of reality (Wallis, 2010). Reaching that understanding leads us to generate educated guesses in order to predict the upcoming events. The generated assumption empowers us and allows us to prepare a suitable response in advance. This process of understanding combines the accumulation of data from the senses with intellectual elaboration of meaning, and thus creating knowledge (Waldrpo, 1984).
